- Beta 0.4 (Mar 14th, 1999)
-
- In CTF maps, since there's already placement of two distant markers (the
flags), we use those markers exclusively as indicators of where to place
the Health Depots.
- CTF maps can now be used without annoying warning messages scrolling on
the console (as they do when most non-CTF mods try to use them).
- Spawn points go away when they aren't in use.
- When you get the virus your screen now flashes yellow as the virus gets
closer to killing you. The more intense it flashes, the closer to death
you are.
- Fixed a bug in the Irradiator that caused it to crash the game if it was
fired into slime or lava. It's the same bug as was crashing the game when
the rail gun was fired into slime or lava.
- A clone of the winning player for any given level is made after the round
has ended so that durring the intermission everyone has an entity to view.
- Bug fixes in the spectator and disconnect code. The mod now cleans up after
any lingering St.Vitus Virus or Irradiator effects on people who become
spectators or disconnect.
- Only record people with positive scores in the
winlog file.
- Beta 0.3 (Jan 27th, 1999)
-
- Fixed bug where the railgun would hang the server if it was shot into
lava or slime.
- Added the sv_maplist_large server variable, so that a secondary
list of larger maps can be used when there are more than 5 people on the
server. I've seen more robust implementations of this, but hey, I'll implement
one of those if I need it.
- A log is kept of who won each round (those rounds that were terminated by
a fraglimit or a timelimit being reached). I've made a link to it on the
web server, here.
- Instead of using Deathmatch spawnpoints for the Intermission viewing
location, now the game looks down the barrel of the winning player's gun
at the winning player.
- cmd nitro and Nitro Depots have been added to the game. They'll
probably be toned down a bit, but try them out while they're here.
- The Rocket Launcher now comes with less ammo and can carry less total ammo.
Also, picking up rocket packs gives you less ammo.
- Players are no longer infected with the virus unless they're actually
gaining health from the station. If they're at 100% and hit the station,
they should suffer no effects at all, ill or otherwise.
- The Health Depots are now only placed where regular health pickups were,
this means it's less likely that you'll encounter a Health Depot in a really
hard to get to location.
- The Health Depots no longer try to give the curse to dead people who are
killed right next to them.
- The Rockets now have a starting velocity relative to the firer. This means
that people racing forwards, firing, will not overtake their rockets.
- The scoreboard now shows who has the virus and how much longer they have
to live.
- Beta 0.2 (Jan 18th, 1999)
-
- The Irradiator fires a little faster.
- The Rocket Launcher fires a little slower.
- The Blaster will use cells, if present, to make its shots a little more
powerful.
- A count-down is now in place to inform people of how close they are to death
when stricken with the St. Vitus Virus.
- Beta 0.1 (Jan 17th, 1999)
-
- Completely server side.
- All health in the game has been replaced by two lone
Health Depots. No player has to use a Health Depot,
but when they do they are healed up completely.
They are also infected with the St. Vitus Virus, which
will kill them in 90 seconds unless they touch the other
Health Depot before that death sentence is up. The
second touch merely prolongs their life for another 90
seconds. Death is the only way to finally kick the habit.
-The BFG10K has been replaced with the Irradiator. This
device takes less ammo per shot, and irradiates its
target. If that target is a player, they lose life slowly
until death or they reach a Health Depot.
The Rocket Launcher will always try to fire three rockets
if it has the ammo for it. The rockets are a little less
accurate, but fun to watch. They also start out moving
slowly, and accelerate in flight.
-The Railgun can now penetrate several walls before its
shots runs out of energy. Each wall it goes through makes
it less effective.
