The following are suggestions that I am pondering:
- Someone requested that scoring needs to be augmented based on how long you
live. Those people who cling to life for a long time and continue to mix
it up should get a bonus.
- Someone requested that those infected with the virus get a bonus. Such
as regenative health (as long as they haven't hit the 90 second virus
timeout).
The following are planned features that have yet to be added:
- Add toggles to most of the weapons and feature mods included in St. Vitus,
so that server ops can choose which ones they like, and which ones piss the
chittering hell out of 'em.
- The rockets still act a little weird. They seem to raise up when you charge
forward. I've probably blown a vector calculation somewhere along the way.
- Health Depots, Nitro Depots, and Spawn points need to fall to the floor
when they are made if the level designed didn't actually put them on the
floor.
- Make a note in the opening text (say, with "Changed BFG10K" and
"use 'cmd nitro' to use nitro") which tells the players what command they
need to bind in order to use the Irradiator.
The following has already been fixed in Beta version 0.5:
- There's now a round-robin mode to the teamplay, which is useful if there
are only a few people on the server. In the round robin mode, everyone
starts on the victors team, but they're able to kill each other. The first
one to die forms the plague team. From this point on, the victors can
get points fragging the plague team, and the plague team gains members
every time they kill a player on the victor team. When the last memeber of
victor team is slain, the round starts over again.
- The menuing system now updates with the ongoing status of the game if
a player is slow to make a selection (a race condition that often happens
when a new map is loaded because of a timelimit, fraglimit or roundlimit
is reached). Now, if players A and B are selecting teams, and player A
makes a selection, then it is reflected in player B's menu. The menuing
system is based on FuzzySteve's Menu System Tut.
- Team play has been added. If you
set teamplay 1 then
the game will enter into TeamVitus mode. In this mode the game is played
for an even number of rounds, with each side taking the brunt of the vitus
virus every other round. The team that has the virus must slay all the
members of the untouched team at least once to cause the sides to switch.
The members of the untouched team are the only ones that can get frags, but
they can not use the Health Depots.
It's currently hard coded to use the male and
female models for the two sides, with the currently
unkilled members of the untouched team in blue skins, and everyone else
in red. Try it out on the local server (brimstone.com),
but make sure you have the following models/skins:
male/ctf_r
male/ctf_b
female/ctf_r
female/ctf_b
- If playing on a CTF map, the individual Health Depots will be named by
their zone's colors, rather than the usual adjectives (ie: "Northern",
"Eastern", "Upper", etc...)
