Notes

This is a completely server side mod mod. There is nothing to be downloaded for the clients.

This mod will work on any standard Q2 map, although one's that have spawn portals in large areas will get the larger skeet to appear.

This mod used to be known as Skeet the Strogg.

Changes from Quake 3.20

Quarry
Once the hunt starts, a single Strogg (or skeet) will be released into the level. This skeet is the quarry, and frags will be awarded to the first person who bags it. As soon as one skeet is killed, the next will be spawned and thrown into the level.
Weapons
As soon as the hunt starts up, all the players will be given a full compliment of weapons and ammo. The ammo will be restocked throughout the game and the players should never have to worry about running out. Furthermore, the hunters have been equiped with the current top-of-the-line ammo, which does tremendous ammounts of damage. Unless you're hitting a skeet with the shotgun from a great distance away, a single shot will generally kill it every time. A warning, though, as this also applies to your fellow hunters. A single shot will reduce them to a bloody smear just as quickly as it would a skeet.
Tracking Scanner
In the lower left hand side of the player's HUD a little tracking reticicle and range finder will appear when the hunt is in progress. The tracker will always point to when the skeet currently is, or where it will appear. The range finder gives a distance to that skeet.
Scoring
The first player to kill the skeet will get a score equal to their current shot count under par. So, if a par 3 skeet is killed on the first shot, the shooter gets 3 points. If the shooter kills the skeet over par, they neither gain nor lose points, but simply remove the skeet from play (thus eliminating the chance that any other player get points off of that skeet). Hunters will get no points in killing each other, and will lose points for being killed by the skeet or by any fumbling about (blowing themselves up, falling into lava, the usual...).
MOTD Reader
The contents of the file safari/motd.txt will be displayed on the player's screen when they connect. This is limited to only 1024 characters in size, and the user might find that some larger amounts of text get lost on the screen. Any blank lines, or lines begining with the pound sign (#) or the C++ comment characters (//) will be ignored by the program and not displayed.
